TD is a man who wears many hats; he is a devoted husband who married his high school sweetheart, a gifted athlete, a proven coach, a devoted sports fan, a supportive mentor, and a gormandizing foodie. But above all else, TD Homer is an American – a man who beams with pride when asked about his home.
From an early age, Homer took an active interest in many sports; he exceeded at peewee soccer, football, baseball, wrestling and basketball. There is a rumor that TD once won two gold medals at a youth league-wrestling tournament by wrestling in his weight class and the one above his. His legendary exploits continued throughout his high school career.
As an outstanding baseball and football player, TD Homer amazed scouts as a college athlete; to this day, he still holds his college's records for most touchdown passes in a single season and for most home runs in a single baseball game.
In the early 1990s, Homer took a job coaching various sports at a local high school, and he discovered his true calling. Homer enjoys giving back to the community that gave so much to him. Known as an excellent "x's and o's" man, TD Homer has been described by players as a tough coach with a heart of gold – a teacher not just on the court or the diamond, but off the field. Homer's players didn't just learn about converting triple plays and scoring touchdowns; they learned what life is like when the uniform comes off.
"It's a great honor to have a restaurant named after you," says TD Homer, who promises to be a regular at the restaurant that will bear his name. "Over the course of my fulfilling life, as a student athlete, as a proud husband, as a semi-professional ball player, and later, as a mentor to generations of children, I've experienced my fair share of honors. But this... this one takes the cake."
